Maureen paints large canvases that capture "slice of life" moments in time that allow the viewer an almost intimate view of the scene. Most of Maureen's outdoor and
indoor landscapes have at least one human figure in them. She paints in a "photo-realism" style along the lines of Alex Colville, and E.J. and Mary Pratt. Maureen works from
several photographs, taking elements from each, putting her own stamp on the image.
Her subject matter can be either familiar local scenes--people rowing, hiking or playing-- or scenes of places she has visited from all around the world.
